DPWS Common Settings

Click [DPWS Settings] - [DPWS Common Settings] on the menu of [Network] tab to display this screen.

This screen allows you to configure settings to detect the machine via the Web service.

  1. Enter a desired name into the [Friendly Name] text box. Up to 62 one-byte characters can be used.

  2. Select either [ON] or [OFF] from the [SSL Setting] drop-down list.

    • This item is not displayed when the device certificate is not installed.

  3. In an environment where NetBIOS is disabled or only IPv6 is used for communication, select [Enable] from the [Publication Service] drop-down list.

  4. If you want to verify certificates for communication via SSL, specify whether to confirm the items to be verified.

    [Validity Period]: Checks whether the certificate's validity period is still valid.

    [Key Usage]: Checks whether the certificate is used according to the intended usage approved by the issuer of the certificate

    [Chain]: Checks whether or not the certificate chain (certificate pass) has a problem. The chain is verified by referring to the external certificates managed by the machine.

    [Expiration Date Confirmation]: Checks whether or not the certificate has expired.

  5. Click [OK]. Clicking [Cancel] cancels the setting.

  6. Click [OK] on the setting complete screen.

  7. If you have changed any setting, turn the machine power off then on.
